Bunuelos....how it's done!!!!

Ingrediants
  •  corn flour (mazarina)
  • cinnamon
  • sugar
  • canola oil
  • frying pan

first your going to Put a medium frying pan on medium heat
I use vegetable oil, but you can use olive oil instead.
Poor enough oil in your pan to cover the a little more then bottom of the pan and allow it to heat

mix powdered cinnamon 1 tsp
1/2 cup sugar
2 cups flour
in a bowl
slowly start to Ned by adding warm water to
the doe 1cup flour to 1/2 cup as you see needed you can
gage consistency by making sure the doe isn't sticking to your hands, and feels stretchy.

so not let sit ....

once the consistency is right work the doe first into small 1 1/2 inch balls
once those are all done flatten ans stretch out each ball of doe with your hands
like if you were making a tortilla they don't have to be perfect.

Once the oil is hot enough, use a pair of tongs to place one flour patty in the pan of oil. Allow to become golden  brown on one side, you will see the doe start to bubble. Flip tortilla over with tongs and allow to lightly golden brown on the flip side

remove  the doe  from the  pan and place in a colander to remove any excess oils.once the oil id drained you can place in a  bowl you can add powder sugar to taste.

you can have these lovely treats hot or cold....

Enjoy!!!!

CATHOLIC CHURCH!!!

I JUST POSTED THE ARTICLE FROM THE NEW YORK TIMES ABOUT THE CATHOLIC CHURCH AND THE ONGOING  ABUSE THAT IT HAS COVERED UP THROUGH OUT THE AGES...
AS I DO REALIZE THAT THIS IS BS AND I IN NOWAY CONDONE OR MAKE EXCUSES FOR IT ..WE AS PARENTS HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT THE CHURCH IS A LOCATION FOR BELIEVE IT TELL US TO HAVE FAITH IN GOD .... NOT IN MAN AND THATS WHAT THE PRIESTS ARE , NOW I'M NOT SAYING THAT THEY ARE ALL DEVIANTS. BUT AS PARENTS OUR VERY FIRST DUTY IS TO OUR CHILDREN ...
TEACHING THEM TO TRUST IN US ENOUGH TO SHARE ALL GOOD AND BAD
KNOWING THAT NO MATTER HOW MUCH WE KNOW, LIKE OR TRUST SOMEONE, EVEN OUR OWN FAMILIES SHOULD ALWAYS BE SUSPECT ...
AND FINALLY THE SCENE OF BELIEF MEANS THE WE TRUST GOD WILL GUIDE US SO WHEN I HEAR PEOPLE SAY THINGS LIKE ... SHUTTING DOWN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH OR DOING AWAY WITH ... WELL A LOCATION IS JUST THAT.. A LOCATION . SO IF  A PERSONS BELIEVES ARE IN GOD THE WILL REMAIN AS SUCH AND IF A PERSONS BELIEVES WERE TO HIDE WITHIN THE WALLS OF A CHURCH  TO ABUSE AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE SMALL VULNERABLY AND FAITHFUL THEN GUESS WHAT THEY WILL FIND ANOTHER SET OF WALLS IF THEY NEED TO....................

Cookie of the week.....

Shortbread Cookies

stuff you need
  • 3/4 pound unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 cup sugar, plus extra for sprinkling
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 6 to 7 ounces very good semisweet chocolate, finely chopped

How to make them

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
mix together the butter and 1 cup of sugar until they are just combined.
Add the vanilla. In a medium bowl, sift together the flour and salt,
then add them to the butter-and-sugar mixture. Mix on low speed until the dough starts to come together. Dump onto a surface dusted with flour and shape into a flat disk.
Wrap in plastic and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Roll the dough 1/2-inch thick and cut with a 3 by 1-inch finger-shaped cutter. Place the cookies on an ungreased baking sheet and sprinkle with sugar.

Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until the edges begin to brown.
leave out to cool at room temp.
When the cookies are cool, place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Put 3 ounces of the chocolate in a glass bowl and microwave on high power for 30 seconds. (Don't trust your microwave timer; time it with your watch.)
.Add the remaining chocolate and allow it to sit at room temperature, stirring often, until it's completely smooth. Stir vigorously until the chocolate is smooth and slightly cooled; stirring makes it glossier.
Drizzle 1/2 of each cookie with just enough chocolate to coat it.

MTA....

The MTA charges us $2.25 and every year they want to put the fee up because they have high efficiency cost labor and all that right....What efficiency they are never on time, what labor the. Buses and trains are always dirty and to top it all of 95% of the staff is rude and nasty... Hello, your not doing me a favor that's why you charge me the $2.25 which means it's a service you provide for the fee. And how dear you tell us that you need the funds to run the a more productive service when the consumer is left out in the cold waiting 45 min and when the bus finally comes it drives right by us because now it's either running late or way to
crowded because it running late.  I wait for the same bus every day and at first I thought I was just not leaving my house with enough time I believed that I must have missed the first bus. But as I started to leave my house earlier I realized that I was standing in the cold longer and longer. the B1 bus is never ever on time in the afternoon is the same you wait and suddenly three or four of them show up at the same time the first one is supper crowded and by the time you try to catch the second one it's already pulling away...which means ..........
MTA get your shit together ... before asking the commuters for more money fix the problems your have right now....

Chrismas time means Cookie time

Ok so its the real holidays now and around this time
I like to bake with the kids ....
so from here till x-mas i will try to put at least two
recipies for cookies and or some sort of desert.....
today we will start with my hubbys favoret

*chocolate chunk cookies*

2 sticks of butter
1 cup of milk
1 and 1/2 cup of baking flower
2 cups of suger
1tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 egg
2 or 3 bars of your favorite chocolate cut up in chunks
1 tsp cinnamon
beat the egg in one bowl together with the milk
and the 2 stick of butter (room temp.)
pre heat oven to 350 degrees
mix the suger, cinnamon, salt, baking powder,
and flower in a seperate bowl
once they are all blended together slowly add the wet Ingredients .
they get really sticky so don't use your hands.
once everything is mixed in together well
now add the chocoleate chunks
after you mix them in take a soup spoon
and with that you pick up your portion size for each cookie.
don't try to put more the 10 or 12 on a sheet because they expand
and stick together they need space between them. and don't forget to grease your pan!!! put them in for about 10-20 min. only no more then that or the will burn
